Biomass dryer

Many processes need large amounts of hot air: grain drying, baking, malthouses. The turbine takes the high-grade heat first. The process takes what comes after.

Heat twice

We are developing an air dryer using biomass, biogas or natural gas as the fuel. Heat from the hot flue gas is first used to heat the air for the turbine. After the hot air is discharged from the turbine it is mixed with preheated air to give the temperature the process needs.

The same idea is already at work on the Taylors Farm bean roaster: CFD mixing of turbine air with preheated air to deliver 800 kW at 210 °C into a Mecmar grain roaster.

First demonstrator
