Biomass dryer

Many processes require large amounts of hot air Including:

  • Grain drying
  • Baking
  • Malthouses

  • We are developing an air dryer using either biomass, biogas or natural gas as the fuel. The principle is that the heat from the hot fluegas is first used to heat the hot air for the turbine. After the hot air is discharged from the turbine it is then mixed with preheated air to give the required temperature for the process.

We plan for the first demonstrator to have the following specification:

  • Fuelled on biomass or natural gas
  • Supplies 125 kg/s hot air at 70 Deg (equivalent to 2650 kW-th)
  • 330kW electrical
  • ROI of 15%
